Abstract
The objective of this study is to map the scientific landscape of Artificial Intelligence (AI) research outputs produced by researchers from Tehran-based universities, as indexed in Scopus. This research is applied in nature and employs a descriptive-analytical methodology, utilizing bibliometric techniques. To generate the scientific maps, tools such as VOSviewer software were utilized. The study analyzed scholarly data on AI published by researchers from Tehran’s universities in the Scopus database, focusing on publications from the 10-year period between 2015 and 2025. The findings of this research reveal that Iranian researchers are predominantly active in the areas of machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing, with significant international collaborations with researchers from various countries. Furthermore, the highest number of AI-related articles have been published by major and prestigious universities in Iran. Ultimately, the analysis indicates a significant increase in AI-related scholarly output in recent years, with expectations of continued growth in the coming years. The findings of this study could assist policymakers and researchers in enhancing research strategies and fostering scientific collaboration within this field.
